MOLDING EQUIPMENT

Sintering bonds the compacted powder particles by a diffusion process that creates solid material bridges between particles.

Sintering atmospheres consist typically of nitrogen/hydrogen mixtures enabling oxide reduction and preventing decarburization.

Conventional sintering typical temperatures up to 1150°C (2100°F) and to high temperatures of 1260°C (2300°F) to achieve most published MPIF Standard 35 Material properties.

To improve dimensional and shape accuracy, sintered parts can be pressed into sizing tools.
